What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient health science which is used to successfully treat both pain and dysfunction in the body. Authorities agree the science is between 5,000 and 7,000 years old. Acupuncture may appear strange to most Westerners as its primary application is the utilization of very slender painless needles in the skin at various locations to relieve pain or affect a body part or function. Early Asian physicians discovered there is an energy network traversing on or just below the surface of the skin which communicates from the exterior to the internal organs and structures at over 1,000 “acupoints” on the body. This energy works in harmony with the body’s circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, genitourinary and all other systems of the body. When this vital energy becomes blocked or weakened, an effect in a body system or anatomic location becomes evident. Stimulation of one or a combination of key acupoints on the body may restore harmony to the affected area. Historians have stated “More people have benefited from Acupuncture over the course of fifty centuries than the combined total of all other healing sciences, both ancient and modern.”

What is “Meridian Therapy”?

Meridian therapy is the accepted name employed by those who practice in the principle of Acupuncture without the use of a penetrating needle. Acupuncture is a principle, not a technique. Therefore, there are many ways to stimulate an acupoint other than a needle, just as there many different stokes used in swimming. Many practitioners use electric stimulation, laser beam, or pressure massage to effectively, treat an acupoint. The principle of Acupuncture does not change, only the technique.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) 

 Applied Kinesiology (AK), developed by Dr. George Goodheart in 1964, uses bioenergetic feedback through testing the strength of various muscles in the body. This highly individualized, in-depth sytem of analysis, allows the doctor to assess various aspects of a patient's state of health by evaluating and treating postural and muscular imbalances, neurovascular and neurolymphatic points, subluxation, cranial-sacral movement, acupuncture meridians and nutritional status. This is a highly effective treatment system which focuses on whole body care.

AK allows the skilled health practitioner to evaluate functional illness, which typically precedes disease. This highly individualized, in-depth sytem of analysis, allows the doctor to assess various aspects of a patient's state of health by evaluating and treating postural and muscular imbalances, neurovascular and neurolymphatic points, subluxation, cranial-sacral movement, acupuncture meridians and nutritional status. This is a highly effective treatment system which focuses on whole body care. AK enables health investigation without intrusion. Allergy / Sensitivity Elimination and Reprogramming Technique (A/SERT)

What is A/SERT? A/SERT (Allergy / Sensitivity Elimination and Reprogramming Technique) is a revolutionary treatment system based on the principles of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Applied Kinesiology (Muscle Response Testing). This technique was developed by Dr. John Brimhall, and is a modification of NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad. This treatment, in conjunction with the 10-Step Protocol, can bring about dramatic improvement -at times even total elimination- for all types of allergies. It is simple, non-invasive and extremely effective. It is currently practiced by hundreds of health practitioners, including MD’s, nurses, acupuncturists, chiropractors, dentists, and, to some extent, allergy sufferers themselves.

How does A/SERT work? A/SERT is based on the recognition that all things, animate and inanimate, in our universe have their own specific electromagnetic fields due to their atomic and molecular makeup, and that these fields affect each other. This is true for our bodies, rocks, pollen, mold, peanut butter, a flower, water, in short, everything. This electromagnetic energy is associated with meridians (energy pathways) in acupuncture, chi in Chinese Medicine, and can be demonstrated with Kirlian photography. Nuclear physicists can determine the type of atom by its electromagnetic frequency. According to Dr. Devi Nambudripad, this is what happens: Your energy system and brain interpret a particular substance (a diamond ring, a whole wheat bagel, a peanut, hot water, sun light) as potentially harmful to your body, and your body reacts. For other people this same item is totally harmless. Your energy pathways freeze up as a way of defending the body against this unsuitable substance. This in turn blocks your energy meridians and, if this condition continues, the overall functioning of your body suffers.

A/SERT Diagnostics- Our fingertips are very sensitive to the electromagnetic energy of substances with which we come into contact. By placing a sample of a suspected allergen into a person’s hand, and using Applied Kinesiology muscle testing, the A/SERT practitioner can determine whether or not a person reacts “weak” or “strong” to the substance, i.e., whether this substance causes an energy blockage in the patient’s body. Such blockages can cause a wide variety of symptoms, from sneezing and coughing to chronic diseases such as asthma.

A/SERT Desensitization- The A/SERT practitioner stimulates key points along the patient’s spine while the patient is holding the allergen. The doctor stimulates certain meridian points, specific organs and lobes of the brain with a Low Level Laser. A chemical change takes place in the autonomic nervous system, neutralizing any allergic reaction to the substance. A/SERT reprograms the brain and the nervous system, and eliminates your body’s conditioned response to the 'allergen'. Environmental medicine has been dealing with hidden allergies for several decades. You try to avoid the allergenic substance in your life, you go on a rotation diet, and maybe you can manage. But with A/SERT you can continue to have contact with the very substance that made you sick.

Cold Laser Therapy

Where is this being used?
